Plant Geometry

if plants were objects

A series of conceptual art images.

Created to explore the notion of plants as objects; as if we could attempt to measure their absoluteness.

In this body or work, I asked myself “what it would look like to create a geometric drawing of a plant – to create a permanent record of something, which by nature, has no permanency”. I found therein lies an entertaining paradox – for if we did try to summarise the design of a plant within a single session of measuring, even within the space of time between the measuring and the recording enough about the plant will have changed to render the measurement session obsolete. I find this bemusing.
